LA Animal Services Reminds You to Check the Chip: It's Straylight Saving Time
03/06/2025
LOS ANGELES, March 6, 2025 – Daylight Saving Time starts this weekend, when we spring forward one hour. It’s also Straylight Saving Time when LA Animal Services reminds pet owners that it’s a good time to check your furry friend’s microchip and licensing information to ensure your contact info is up-to-date – especially if you’ve moved or changed phone numbers. A microchip with your most current contact information will help ensure you and your furry friend are reunited should you become separated.
Microchipping is permanent pet identification. The process is safe, simple, permanent, and designed to quickly identify lost pets and reunite them with their owners. The microchip, which is about the size of a grain of rice, is injected beneath the surface of the pet’s skin between the shoulder blades.
If your pet needs a microchip, visit any of our six LA Animal Services Centers to have your companion animal microchipped. The cost is $15. No appointment needed.
