Los Angeles, March 24, 2023 –
To help dogs, which currently make up the majority of LA Animal Services’ shelter population, our friends at Helpful Honda will be helping dogs get adopted this Saturday, March 25, at our Chesterfield Square/South LA Animal Services Center from 11am to 3pm. Families who adopt a medium and/or larger-sized canine companion will be provided a new pet starter kit that includes a collar, leash, dog bed, toys, and food to help make it easier to welcome and bring home a new furry friend.
To further encourage pet adoptions, LA Animal Services will be offering reduced adoption fees at all six of our Centers on Saturday, March 25 and Sunday, March 26. Adoption fees for dogs will be $51, puppies, $75 (excluding license fees for LA City residents); cats $12.50 and $25 for kittens.
“Our event with Helpful Honda last week at our East Valley location was a success and we’re hoping for the same outcome at our Chesterfield Square/South LA Center this Saturday,” said Annette Ramirez, Interim General Manager for LA Animal Services. “With our shelters at critical capacity, we’re encouraging our animal loving community to open your heart and home to a new furry family member and please foster or adopt.”
Dogs and cats adopted from LA Animal Services join their new families already spayed or neutered, vaccinated, licensed, and microchipped, and adopters receive a VCA Healthy Start Certificate, which provides up to $250 of follow up veterinary care within the first 14 days of adoption. In addition, canine companions adopted from LA Animal Services are also eligible for free dog training classes at the Paws for Life K9 Rescue People & Pet Innovation Center in Mission Hills, CA.
