Kitten Season
Kitten Season is the time of year when an enormous influx of kittens enter animal shelters that typically occurs in the Spring and lasts throughout Summer. LA Animal Services needs the help of our community to manage the increased intake of kittens during these very busy months.
If you are interested in fostering baby kittens, complete the foster application and email your completed form to: ani.foster@lacity.org, and join us for our Baby Bottle Orientation workshops:
- Saturday July 26: 10am to 12pm @ East Valley: 14409 Vanowen St., Van Nuys, CA 91405
- Sunday, July 27: 10am to 12pm @ North Central: 3201 Lacy St, Los Angeles, CA 90031
LA Animal Services has resources below to let you know what to do if you see baby kittens in your backyard as well as a foster handbook if you’re ready to be kitten foster hero. Because it’s all hands on deck during kitten season, we also have additional helpful resources available from our partners at the The Human Animal Support Services project.
Join us at a Kitten Shower!
Kitten Showers are great ways to learn about adopting or fostering kittens, learning tips and tricks for caring for your felines, and helping support us during kitten season!
- Sunday, July 13: 11am to 3pm @ West LA: 11361 W. Pico, LA, CA 90064
- Sunday July 20: 11am to 3pm @ Harbor: 957 N Gaffey St. San Pedro, CA 90731
