Commissioner Riordan

Commission Riordan

Ms. Riordan, who studied Zoology and Psychology at UC Davis, California, comes to the L. A. Animal Services Board of Commissioners with extensive background in animal behavior including native and exotic wildlife, nonhuman primates and companion animals.

She performed extensive volunteer work at the Los Angeles Zoo where she served as Zoo Keeper on the wing for giraffes, zebras, cape buffalos and lions.

She worked for several years at the Humanitas Awards Foundation, and then as a board member of the Wildlife Waystation and New Leash on Life.

Ms. Riordan presently sits on the board of the Riordan Foundation. She is owned by a few cats and horses and feels honored to be in their presence. "Animals have been a great part of my life as far back as I can remember," Commissioner Riordan said.

As Commissioner for L.A. Animal Services, I hope to better serve our resident animals in the City and help bring the Department into the 21st Century."
